Home Learning
At Oasis Academy MediaCityUK, we are striving to ensure that all students leave with the skills, abilities and qualifications to become successful in their future careers. This year, we now use Satchel: One Show My Homework to set homework each week in order to achieve this ambitious goal, we will using this new approach to home learning. Please see Satchel: One help page for more information.
Each half term students will receive a ‘Knowledge Organiser’ which outlines all key information students must know and learn to make good progress in their subjects. At home, students must master this material as they will tested weekly on this knowledge and how they have learnt it. This way, students will be able to make better progress in class and should develop revision techniques right from year 7.

During the designated ‘set’ week teachers will direct students to the relevant ‘Knowledge Organiser’ & paper copies will be handed out to those students who cannot access the school website.
During the ‘complete week’ students will complete a ‘Knowledge Organiser Homework Quiz’. This will comprise of five questions linked to the relevant knowledge organiser. Upon completion students are to self asses their work. Home Learning quizzes will be completed during the relevant week and these are completed at the start of the lesson.
Teachers will rate each student’s completion of home learning at each assessment point.
